With over 25 years of experience practicing law, attorney Nancy Ligon de Ita provides legal representation in family law, workers compensation, and personal injury law. Ms. de Ita handles all aspects of divorce, including visitation, child custody, child support, and move-away motions, and has been appointed to represent children in San Mateo and Santa Clara courts. Following that, she founded the firm that would later become De Ita & Lowe, LLP. She spent her sophomore year at Callison College at the University of the Pacific, taking classes in Bangalore, India. She spent her final two years at the University of the Americas in Cholula, Mexico. This unique international background enables her to work with a diverse clientele, assisting with language issues and addressing cultural differences in the courtroom, in mediations, and before custody evaluators. Ms. de Ita is an active member of her community. For many years, she raised funds through Team in Training, participating in walking marathons, hiking, and cross-country ski events. She worked on a committee to raise a half million dollars to refurbish the ceremonial courtroom at the old historical courthouse in Redwood City, and organized a hiking team and raised funds for CORA, San Mateo's domestic violence clinic.
